A New Mitsubishi Crossover Coming to Geneva

Mitsubishi Motors Corporation may have recently announced that it will be ending production of its erstwhile Lancer real soon. Yet this doesn’t mean that the Mitsu faithful should start grieving. Sure, a favorite model may be heading to automotive heaven. But there may just be another reason to rejoice—especially for those who like crossovers.

Mitsubishi has issued a teaser photo of what is essentially an all-new compact Sport Utility Vehicle (CUV). Based on the silhouette, you can immediately notice the shape and striking lines that this little number possesses.

Notable styling cues include a flowing character line, a wedge-shaped belt line, and a long wheelbase that complements the steeply raking rear quarters. Apart from these, the short front and rear overhangs and fender flares give it a powerful, purposeful stance. It ties in with the rest of the Diamond Star’s SUV lineup.

Speaking of SUVs, the ASX, Outlander, and the Pajero/Montero Sport are still there to complete the family lineage. Each one provides space, versatility, and practicality with a bit of Mitsubishi’s motorsport’ heritage that will suit various needs and wants. And this little SUV, which will be revealed at this year’s Geneva Motor Show in March, promises to be no exception.
