To most riders, safety is as important as looking cool on the road. For this reason, Dainese (pronounced as “die-neh-zeh”), has opened its doors in the Philippines. It offers quality protective motorcycle riding gear and apparel that put safety at par with style.

Dainese is an Italian company founded by Lino Dainese in 1972. It specializes in manufacturing motorcycle, cycling, horse riding, and winter sports gears that revolve around Lino’s “safety first” advocacy. Through the years, it has acquired companies like AGV (a helmet manufacturer) and POC (maker of quality winter sports and cycling gear) to form the Dainese Group.

In the Philippines, Dainese recently opened its shop at the 6th level of the East Wing in Shangri-La Plaza, EDSA corner Shaw Boulevard, Mandaluyong City. With the help of its Philippine partner MWorld Trading, the shop is set to bring a wide array of Dainese products that cater to the local motorcycle riding community.

For its initial selection of wares, Dainese Philippines is offering what it refers to as its “head-to-toe” safety system. This is comprised of the Pista GP R helmet and the Mugello R D-Air racing suit, both of which were designed with the help of champion MotoGP rider Valentino Rossi.

The Pista GP R helmet boasts protection, performance, and comfort. It features increased field of vision with its Race 3 Max Pinlock visor. Moreover, it comes with an aerodynamic, wind-tunnel tested “rear spoiler” called Biplano. Lastly, it offers comfort to its wearer with its integrated ventilation system that incorporates a hydration system so the rider won’t feel drained out with too much heat and thirst, especially on track days or long rides.

The Mugello R D-Air racing suit, on the other hand, offers maximum safety for the rider. Firstly, its D-Air design extends the airbag safety bracket from the neck part to the shoulders, collarbones, and even down to the lower rib cage. It also has an emergency LED lighting system, a re-engineered elbow padding, and an adaptive knee construction, all of which provide not just safety, but comfort as well.
