Earlier this year, Honda Cars Philippines Inc. made a stir in the local automotive scene when it announced that it would be selling the Civic Type R in the country for the very time. This was followed up in July by an announcement that all 100 units of the eagerly-awaited Type R that were initially brought into the Philippines were already accounted for.

Well, the long wait is over. Customers who are eager to see the Type R in the 10th-generation Civic body can soon do so, right here on Philippine soil. As we all know, the latest Honda Civic Type R is at the pinnacle of Honda’ motoring and engineering prowess. It boasts a lightweight body with a high output engine for optimum driving pleasure.

Staying true to the principle of creating racing-inspired road cars, the Civic Type R packs a 2.0-liter VTEC Turbo mill with 310hp and 400Nm of torque. All that power is sent to the drive wheels through a slick-shifting 6-speed manual gearbox with rev match control. This combo is complemented by a sporty and aerodynamic body and a comfortable and equally sporty cabin.

The new Honda Civic Type R will be available in two colors: Championship White and Rallye Red. Car fans can check out the Type R at select Honda dealerships beginning in the 2nd week of October
