It was only last September when Nissan Motor Co Ltd showed off its cool-looking next-generation Leaf electric vehicle. And in less than a month’s time, this high-tech EV will spawn a Nismo Concept version, which is set to debut at no less than the 45th Tokyo Motor Show.

A quick glance at the car’s flanks reveals a few details taken straight from the Nismo parts bin. Aerodynamic bits give the car more flair while helping it achieve better perfor4mance. The black-on-white detailing simply adds to its unique character.

But what really sets this Leaf Nismo Concept apart from the already cutting-edge regular electric version is what lies beneath the metal. Suspension tweaks have been done by Nissan’s tuning and motorsport arm to give the Leaf Nismo more grip on the move. Naturally, driving performance is enhanced by an updated computer that allows the car to accelerate even quicker.

While driving performance numbers haven’t been revealed just yet, Nissan did point out that the Leaf Nismo will still boast of the cool ProPilot single-lane autonomous mode and the ProPilot Park that lets the driver control acceleration and braking by simply depressing, modulating, and releasing the accelerator.

Catch the Nissan Leaf Nismo Concept and other cool vehicles at the 45th Tokyo Motor Show, which runs from October 25 to November 5, 2017.
