This year’s Manila International Auto Show (MIAS) includes Dodge Philippines as one of its exhibitors. Catching attention on its booth is the red-hot Dodge Challenger SRT Hellcat muscle car.

Right off the bat, the Challenger SRT Hellcat projects a retro-modern exterior styling that gives a nod to its past iterations. It is both boxy and sleek with a long and wide stance.

Its front end presents a mean-looking aura to it. Within its split grille is a set of high intensity discharge headlamps with daytime running lights for increased visibility on the road at all times. Meanwhile, below the bumper is a blacked-out chin spoiler with yellow accents that add style.

Turning to the side, the styling remains largely unchanged. It comes with color-keyed door handles and side mirrors. Speaking of the door handles, they come with a lighting system that makes getting into the car a tad easier at night. Rounding off the profile is a set of black-painted 20-inch wheels wrapped in Pirelli 275/40 ZR20 P Zero rubbers. The rear portion, on the other hand, completes the retro-modern styling theme with split tail lights and dual exhausts.

Inside the Challenger SRT Hellcat are leather-wrapped door trims, seats, and shift knob. Its centerpiece though, is an 8.4-inch touch screen head unit complete with Dodge’s Uconnect system for in-car connectivity and navigation, among others. It is also worth mentioning that the infotainment system, which transmits sound through 18 speakers, can support portable devices via USB or Aux port.

But what makes the Challenger SRT Hellcat a “Hellcat”? The answer lies under the hood. Open it up to reveal its supercharged 6.2L V8 engine that makes 707 hp and 658 Nm of torque. This engine is tamed using an 8-speed automatic transmission that spins the rear wheels. In comparison, The Dodge Challenger SRT runs with a bigger, non-supercharged 6.4 V8, which is able to put out 485 hp and 644 Nm.

Safety-wise, the Challenger SRT Hellcat comes fitted with driver, front passenger, and side curtain airbags. It also has an assortment of other safety features which include ABS, traction control, blind spot detection, child seat anchors, and speed control, among others.

According to Dodge Philippines, the Challenger SRT Hellcat is now available.
