Ford launch the all-new EcoSport

So what is it?

It is a five-seater UUV. That’s not Ford speak, that’s my own acronym for Urban Utility Vehicle. Think of a Fiesta on stilts and you’ll have a fair idea. It uses the 110ps Ford Fiesta 1.5 liter engine and comes in both 5-speed manual and Ford’s powershift auto. There’s no word in the press release about the ecoboost, but that sounds like a gem.

What’s special?

Aside from being a bit more spacious than a Fiesta, with up to 705 liters of space with the rear seats tumbled (big enough to fit a washing machine) It also has 200mm extra ground clearance and a very impressive 550mm wading depth.

It also features 20 storage compartments and a glove box that can swallow 6 cans of drinks and keep them cool.

How much?

The EcoSport will be available at Ford showrooms nationwide starting in April at the following pricing:

All-New Ford EcoSport 1.5L Ti-VCT Titanium AT: PhP 975,000
All-New Ford EcoSport 1.5L Ti-VCT Trend AT: PhP 875,000
All-New Ford EcoSport 1.5L Ti-VCT Trend MT: PhP 825,000
All-New Ford EcoSport 1.5L Ti-VCT Ambiente MT: PhP 775,000

Where can I see one and take it for a Spin?

Consumers can catch the all-new Ford EcoSport Roadshow, which will include test drives, at select malls nationwide on the following dates:

January 31 to February 2 at Bonifacio High Street
February 7 to February 9 at Alabang Town Center
February 14 to February 16 at SM Marikina
February 21 to February 23 at Glorietta 5 Atrium
February 28 to March 2 at SM Mall of Asia
March 21 to 23 at SM Cebu

Stay tuned for a hands-on review and first driving impression very soon.
