United Asia Automotive Group, Inc. (UAAGI), the exclusive local distributor of FOTON Vehicles, has joined this year’s Manila International Auto Show to highlight the Gratour, its contender in the minivan segment.

At a glance, the Gratour boasts style and practicality. On the outside, the Gratour’s welcoming fascia and well-rounded body contours feel quite at home in the urban environment. Also with its long wheelbase and variable seating configurations, it can seat up to 8 people with room to spare for luggage or grocery items.

Inside the Gratour are fabric-laden seats and manual air conditioning for front and rear passengers. For a more entertaining journey, it also comes fitted with an FM radio with a USB port to playback music from mobile devices.

On the road, the Gratour moves with a 1.2L gasoline engine and a 5-speed manual transmission. Although FOTON has not disclosed the Gratour’s power rating, it stated that the minivan has 112 Nm of torque.

Underneath, it’s got an independent McPherson suspension up front and a non-independent leaf spring type at the rear. The former is connected to a set of disc brakes while the latter has drum brakes to provide ample stopping power.

For safety, FOTON has equipped the Gratour with an anti-lock braking system (ABS) so drivers can steer the vehicle away from a potential collision while stepping on the brakes at the same time.
