The ultimate test of man and machine. Demanding on both car and driver.  The most difficult racing circuit in the world. These are just some of the descriptions given to the world famous Nurburgring Nordschleife (or Northern Loop).

Anyone who knows cars and motor racing is aware that this 15.5-mile track is no joke. Built in 1925 in the German region of Eifel, the Ring, as it is fondly called, is a series of serpentine-like twists and turns that snake through the dense forests of the Eifel region. It has been, and continues to be used to test the latest race cars, performance machines, hypercars, and the like. And drivers who want to see if they have what it takes have a go at this challenging course.

Known to many as the Green Hell, the title was given by Sir Jackie Stewart, who is one of the few who have taken on the circuit and have lived to tell the tale. At present, the Porsche 918 Spyder holds the fastest lap time, at 6 minutes and 57 seconds. This is the standard by which all supercars and racers go by. Many have tried yet failed to beat. So far.

Moonlake Entertainment teams up with Aston Martin, Audi, BMW, Lamborghini, Mercedes, Porsche, and Williams to tell the story of “The Green Hell”. The film looks at the unique relationship between man, nature, and machine. It will feature footage of exclusive interviews of racing legends past and present, as well as showcase the stories of three motorsport journalists whose lives were connected to the Ring. To top it off, the 4k movie will have no less than the greats like Sir Jackie Stewart, Sir Sterling Moss, David Coulthard, Mark Webber, and more to tell their own tales about the most famous racetrack on the planet.

The Green Hell will begin showing in Europe on February 21. Watch the trailer here
