Hyundai Asia Resources Inc (HARI) continues to show a strong showing in terms of sales, as it reported growth for the month of April. The stellar performance for the said month likewise pushed sales for the first four months of 2017 upwards as well, compared to the same period during the previous year.

Hyundai’s total year-to-date sales were pegged at 11,362 units—up by 9% compared to the 10,417 vehicles sold during the same time a year ago. April figures alone accounted for 2,521 units.

The vehicle turnover can be attributed to some 7,753 passenger cars sold. This is a 10% rise over last year’s 7,073 cars. Leading the charge was the Hyundai Accent, which continues to the best-seller for the Korean marque. The Light Commercial Vehicle segment, meanwhile, saw 3,609 units leave showrooms from January to April of 2017. This 8% increase is expected to rise even further, thanks in no small part to the demand for Tucson and H100, which seem to be the favorite among Filipinos.

And with the Philippine economy seen to continue its 6.5 to 7.5% GDP rate, HARI likewise anticipates sustained growth in the coming months.
