Hyundai Asia Resources, Inc. (HARI), the official local distributor of Hyundai vehicles, has closed February 2017 with a strong sales growth.

According to the Korean car brand, its year-on year sales (February 2016 to February 2017) posted a total of 2,653 units. That’s a 21% increase in sales as compared to the same period last year with a record of 2,189 units.

In addition, this positive growth has increased HARI’s 2017 year-to-date sales (January to February 2017) by up to 15% or a total of 5,247 units. In retrospect, last year’s year-to-date sales was recorded at 4,576 units.

HARI credits the achievement to the strong consumer demand for its passenger cars, especially the Accent sub-compact. The Accent’s latest year-on-year sales has reached a total of 1,286 units, a commendable 114% increase over its previous year-on-year sales of 600 units.

Moreover, HARI’s light-commercial vehicle year-on-year sales also went up by 19% with a total of 719 units. In comparison, the previous year-on-year sales closed at 606 units. Of note, the Grand Starex is still the best-selling light-commercial vehicle in HARI’s lineup with its latest year-on-year sales at 270 units. Looking back, its previous year-on-year sales was capped at 236 units.

“Our strong start in 2017 paves the way for a promising year as we continue to satisfy our customers with premium quality products and services,” said Ma. Fe Perez-Agudo, HARI President and CEO.
