Jaguar XE, XF, and F-Pace Get More Power, Convenience, and Safety Kit for 2018

Regular readers may have noticed that Jaguar Land Rover just unveiled an innovative system that allows vehicle owners to pay for gas cashlessly, or even without swiping their credit card. In true Jaguar fashion, however, this was apparently merely the tip of the proverbial iceberg. That’s because the British luxury carmaker has just rolled out a few notable improvements to three of its vaunted vehicles—the 2018 Jaguar XE, XF, and F-Pace.

The 2018 Jaguar XE. XF, and F-Pace will feature a new pair of Ingenium gasoline motors and one very potent yet efficient Ingenium diesel mill. The gas engines are rated at 200hp (for the 20t variant) and 250hp (with a 25t badge). Both motors boast low friction aluminum parts for greater efficiency, less heat, and improved performance.

The diesel lump, on the other hand, is for the 25d range and puts out 240hp. All three motors have a 2.0-liter displacement, yet, as can be seen, offer outstanding power and equally stellar fuel economy and lower emissions.

Besides the new engines, Jaguar Land Rover also offers new vehicle owners more driving pleasure by giving them a new Configurable Dynamics system to play with. Working together with Adaptive Dynamics, the system allows drivers to toggle between Normal and Dynamic settings to control engine, gearbox, and suspension and customize these to their liking. It’s the best way to  turn your Jag from mild-mannered to fun-loving gentlemen at the push of a chequered-flag center console button.

And of course, no Jaguar Land Rover upgrade would be complete without a few comfort and safety tweaks. The convenience bit comes from goodies like winged headrests, and a new Dual View monitor for the InControl infotainment system. The latter lets driver and front passenger look at two different views using the same 10-inch screen. The driver can, for instance, concentrate on navigation maps while his passenger can check out the latest on the web.

As for safety, Jaguar Land Rover gives new XF, XE, and F-Pace owners gear like Forward Traffic Detection, Forward Vehicle Guidance, and Blind Spot Assist. The first piece of kit helps the driver “see” clearly ahead even if the view is obstructed. Forward Vehicle Guidance also uses the Surround Camera, yet works best at low speeds. And the last safety system works in conjunction with Blind Spot Monitor and the vehicle’s steering system to keep it in its lane if an obstacle is detected in its blind spot.

The new upgrades will be available for the 2018 Jaguar XE, XF, and F-Pace
