You may have seen them riding around with their helmets—on their elbows. Or worse, with no helmets at all. These are just some of the road hazards that the Motorcycle Development Program Participants Association (MDPPA) wants to address and eventually eliminate via its latest campaign known as Helmets Save Lives.

The program aims to raise awareness about the importance of wearing proper motorcycle riding gear and how these can spell the difference between life and death. Last November, MDPPA took the campaign on its second leg North of Metro Manila to Caloocan where it distributed Helmets Save Lives stickers to various motorcycle dealerships within the area.

The dealerships included Minerva Trading House of Motorcycle Inc, Tres Hermanas Motor Corp, Cyclemar Caloocan Inc, and Motortrade Nationwide Corp. The move was meant to let clients know that apart from buying their motorbike, they should also invest in riding gear like helmets to protect themselves while on the go.

To further boost its campaign, MDPPA is inviting all motorists to upload photos of the Helmets Save Lives stickers placed on their helmets on motorcycles on Facebook or Twitter, using the hashtags #MDPPARoadSafetyPH and #HelmetsSaveLives.  You can like MDPPA Official on Facebook or follow them on Twitter.  And who knows? The life that you save could just be your own.
