To those working in the Philippine Long Distance Telephone Company (PLDT), going to and from your workplace or your appointment destinations has become easier and more convenient.

That’s because the country’s leading telecommunications provider has joined forces with Uber Philippines, a popular ride sharing app developer for a new project.

In detail, PLDT, along with its subsidiary brands Smart Communications and Voyager, recently inked a partnership with Uber Philippines to provide its employees with faster, safer, and easier means of travel. In accordance with the said partnership, each employee, particularly those in the sales and marketing department, will be given an Uber For Business account.

In a nutshell, the Uber for Business provides corporate or business companies with a central payment account to which employees/workers can use on business trips instead of using the company car, their personal cars, or calling a cab. Should there be a need to shell out cash for a business trip, employees may request a reimbursement. To ensure safety and transparency, the Uber for Business features a dashboard which allows employees to monitor trip activities.

“Uber is excited to offer solutions to companies like the PLDT group and allow us to work together not only to solve traffic, but also to save on costs of buying brand new cars. By using technologies like Uber for Business, companies are able to unlock new ways to meet employee transportation needs whenever they want, at the push of a button. We are helping shape the future of travel and simplify processes.” Said Uber Philippines General Manager Laurence Cua.
