It was a dramatic yet still fulfilling finish for the Pinnacle Racing Team (PRT) and its stint in the 2016/2017 Asian Le Mans Endurance Series, which held its final race at the Sepang International Circuit in Malaysia.

The 5,543km track played host to the grid, which saw a slew of cars battle for pole position and race supremacy. While the duo of Ate De Jong and Charlie Robertson had a strong start, their efforts, however, were abruptly cut short due to a mechanical failure. After an impressive showing in Free Practice 1 and 2, they were able to qualify in 5th spot on Saturday.

Once the race got underway on Sunday afternoon, De Jong and Robertson drove their hearts out, getting as high as fourth place during the 4-hour event. But with just 15 minutes left, a broken sub-axle forced them to call it a day and a season.

Still, the team found solace in their strong performance throughout the season.  Their DNF during the final race was not enough to dampen their spirits as they knew they had fought a good fight. And it would not have been possible without the help of partners Pinbet88, Motul, P1 Racewear, and Redmount Group, who all chipped in to power the Pinbet88-sponsored Ginetta LMP3 race car.
