Naturally-aspirated engines are a dying breed. Every other car from compacts to SUVs and even supercars are going the forced-induction route. So it’s refreshing to see a car like the Audi R8 V10 Plus sport an all-natural mill. The good news is, all this goodness has finally landed on Philippine soil.

PGA Cars, the official local Audi distributor, today unveiled the mighty R8 V10 Plus with its 5.2-liter 40-valve V10 motor that puts out 610hp and 560Nm of torque. All that power is transferred the drive wheels via seven-speed S-tronic gearbox and of course, Audi’s quattro  all-wheel drive. This makes for an eye-watering 3.2 second rest to 100kph time and an awesome 330kph top speed (assuming you can find a long and safe enough piece of road).

The Audi R8 V10 Plus boasts an equally high-tech exterior with distinct styling cues. Full LED headlamps—first seen on the Mark I R8 in 2008—gives the car that “Iron Man” demeanor at night. Then there is the Singleframe grille flanked by large vertical fins and air intakes. Out back, a diffuser and ventilation screen give it a more powerful stance. A carbon fiber reinforced polymer wing on the V10 Plus completes the look. Potent six-piston front and four-piston rear caliper-fitted brakes hide behind 245/30R20 and 305/30R20 rubber front and rear, respectively.

Lightweight is the key word when describing the innovative Audi Space Frame. Thanks to a mix of 79 percent aluminum and 13 percent carbon fiber reinforced polymer, the entire structure weighs in at just 200kg. Moreover, the extensive use of carbon fiber and aluminum throughout various areas of the car make the second-gen model lighter by 188kg than the previous one, tipping the scales at just 1,555kg.

This being an Audi, a high-tech driver-centric cabin awaits you as you step inside. The Audi Virtual Cockpit lets you customize all the needed information so you can view it at a glance. Audi MMI allows full control of the car and its various functions. And the Drive Select means you can choose the mode that suits your driving style.

The Audi R8 V10 is available at the Audi showrooms in Greenhills, Bonifacio Global City, and Alabang.
