The Honda Mobilio Gets a Sportier Vibe

Family oriented—this is how most folks would describe Honda’s erstwhile 7-seat MPV, the Mobilio. Since it was launched in in 2014, the mini-MPV has won the hearts of many Honda fans, mostly family men who needed the space and utility that the vehicle offered.

Now, Honda wants to add a bit of sportiness to the mix, debuting a refreshed Mobilio via Honda Automobile Thailand Co Ltd. The updated people hauler gets a revised front grille, sleeker headlights, LED position lamps, and spiffy 15-inch alloy rims. Inside, the cabin likewise gets tweaked with a redesigned front console, as well as a new Multi Information Display.

The premium vibe continues as Honda endows the facelifted Mobilio with touches like automatic airconditioning, Smart Key, a 6.1-inch touchscreen with HDMI port, and pushbutton engine start, just to name a few. These are complemented by a spacious interior that can accommodate either 5 or 7 passengers, depending on the variant.

The Honda Mobilio is still powered by a 1.5-liter SOHC four-cylinder with i-VTEC variable valve timing, producing 118hp and 146Nm. The engine is mated to an Earth Dreams Continuously Variable Transmission (CVT) that brings out adequate punch and equally modest fuel economy.

As always, the trademark Honda safety comes in the form G-CON body structure, dual SRS airbags, Vehicle Stability Assist, Hill Start Assist, and reverse camera.

Speaking of sporty variants, Honda is offering the Mobilio RS for those that what a bit more style in their MPV. The gloss black grille, projector headlights with LED position lamps, foglamps, revised front and rear bumper, side sill garnish, exhaust pipe finisher, sportier 15-inch alloys, RS emblem, and a rear spiler all give it a more vibrant appeal.

The updated Honda Mobilio is now available in the Thai market.
