Yes it’s true, SLEX stop selling e-passes.

If you're planning to get a new e-pass for the south, you’ll have better luck getting a plate from the LTO in 7 days, after my source down south confirmed that Skyway O&M Corporation (SOMCO) have stopped selling the e-pass to make way for the RFID versions from new owners San Miguel Corporation (SMC).

Problem is, there’s no word on when the new RFID stickers will be issued, which has created an electronic limbo that has left some motorists foaming at the mouth. It also brings up the very valid question of when the current tags will become obsolete; can the balance be transferred; and who will shoulder the cost of the migration to the new RFID when it comes into effect.

Stay tuned for more updates as they come through.
