Looking to restore a classic automobile? Wouldn’t you rather buy one brand new? Well, now you can purchase a brand new classic from a truly prestigious automaker. We refer to the Aston Martin DB4 GT Continuation.

The name says it all: this car continues the tradition started by the original model that was produced from 1959-1963. The Le Mans 24-Hour winning car, which was lightweight, short, and ultimately sweet to drive, has a long-standing motorsport history, driven by no less than Sir Sterling Moss during its heyday.

The new car even boasts of the Vehicle Identification Number that takes its cue from the few 75 built—with eight lightweight examples. With VIN 0202R, it will practically continue the bloodline when lovingly put together at the Newport, Pagnell facility. It will also pack the Tadek Marek-designed straight-six motor with twin-spark plug configuration. This powerplant puts out 340hp and drives the rear wheels—just like the best of them. And of course, it comes standard with a good old four-speed manual.

While the two-seat track-only car may use traditional materials like thin-gauge aluminum built over a tubular frame, a bit of modern technology was employed to ensure exact standards are met. This comes in the form of digital simulation, just to make sure that the hand-built process will be up to spec when executed.

Being a track car, Aston Martin Works, the car’s builder, has prepared a two-year track programme to make sure that owners get to truly enjoy their new toy. The schedule will include track days at circuits like the famed Yas Marina in Abu Dhabi, as well as other world-class race tracks. And of course, Aston Martin’s driver training program will be available for those that want to make the most out of their prized DB4 GT.

Aston Martin will begin delivering the DB4 GT in the third quarter of 2017.
