After a string of variants of the Exige and Evora, as well as a one-off Evora Sport 410 that pays tribute to the iconic Esprit, Lotus is back with what is touted to be the most powerful Evora to date: the Lotus Evora GT430.

Based on the now-legendary Lotus Evora, the GT430 adds a host of upgrades that make the car look and go faster. Chief among thiese is the 3.5-liter supercharged and charge cooled V6 motor that now puts out 430hp. This lets the GT430 scoot to 100kph from rest in a scant 3.7 seconds before hitting a 305kph top speed.

Beyond the straight-line performance, the new Evora GT430 also promises to be light on its feet. This is made ossible through the use of lightweight carbon fiber in various places, like the front splitter, front access panel, roof, and rear wing. Handling is further enhanced by Ohlins two-way TTX adjustable dampers, which feature 20-click adjustment and compression settings. These give the driver the utmost room to play around with their desired setup and get the best out of the car.

Taking a page from the Lotus Esprit V8 GT and GT3 from the 1990s, the Evora GT430 has been designed to generate up to 250kg of downforce while at speed. This is accomplished through the use of strategically placed aerodynamic components, such as larger front apertures, carbon fiber splitters, aero ducts behind the wheels, and a large rear diffuser, among others. This is aided in no small part by grippy Michelin Pilot Sport Cup 2 tires.

And in this day and age of high-tech automatic gearboxes, the Lotus Evora GT430 is one of those cars that likes to do things the old-fashioned way. It uses a six-speed manual transmission with a low-inertia single-mass flywheel. This translates to quick, precise shifts that will bring out the most from that 3.5-liter mill. Plus, the car is fitted with a Torsen-type Limited Slip Differential for the utmost traction and handling prowess.

The Lotus Evora GT430 is now available to order. It will, however, be limited to just 60 examples.
