The year 2017 isn’t over yet Porsche continues its rise as more Porsches were delivered in the first nine months of this year vis-à-vis the same period in 2016. The German luxury sports car maker reports a 4 percent rise in sales, pegging the figure at 185,898 units.

Driving the stellar performance is the hot-selling Porsche Panamera, which sold some 19,000 copies for a 73 percent rise in sales.  But the main catalyst was still the Macan and Cayenne SUV duo.  The compact Macan saw a 3 percent increase in sales or an equivalent of 73,000 units, while tis Cayenne big brother had 49,000 examples rolling out of showrooms.

Those showrooms, by the way, were mostly in China. This market accounted for some 54,000 vehicles sold. It was followed by the United States, where 41,000 units were delivered for the first three quarter of this year. And of course, the European home market also showed a strong demand, with 60,838 units sold, up by 4 percent.

“We are optimistic that the 2017 figures will surpass the high levels of the previous year. We owe this to the fact that we are offering the most attractive product range that Porsche has ever had”, explained Detlev von Platen, Member of the Executive Board responsible for Sales and Marketing at Porsche AG.

With this trend, Porsche is confident that it will exceed its targets once the year 2017 comes to a close.
