American carmaker Chevrolet, through its official distributor The Covenant Car Company, Inc. (TCCCI), has joined this year’s Manila International Auto Show (MIAS). At the center of its booth is the new Chevrolet Spark which it unveiled in style.

The Chevrolet Spark, with its new global platform design, boasts a fresh and sportier exterior styling. It’s got a set of new projector headlights scent its bolder dual-port grille, all rounded off with the bran’s bowtie emblem.

On the other hand, its profile departed not too far from its predecessor, only that it now has more defined character lines and a set of 15-inch alloy wheels. Meanwhile, new to the rear end are the restyled tail lights and bumper.

Aside from the exterior styling, the Spark’s interior was also updated. The most evident of which is its head unit. It now features a 7-inch touch screen with a MyLink system that has cellphone mirroring capabilities.

Under the hood resides a new 1.4L inline 4-cylinder engine that churns out 98 hp and 128 Nm of torque. This all-aluminum gasoline engine is routed to either a 5-speed manual or a continuous variable transmission (CVT).

For safety, the new Chevrolet Spark comes with driver and passenger airbags, as well as anti-lock braking system (ABS), dynamic stability control with traction control, and anti-theft alarm with immobilizer for security.

This new subcompact hatchback is now available and comes in a variety of colors; Switchblade Silver, Summit White, Black Meet Kettle, Pull Me Over Red, Son of Gun Gray Metallic, Brimstone, and Mint My Mind.

TCCCI says that it is selling the new Chevrolet Spark in 3 variants; the 1.4 LT MT (P648,888), the 1.4L LT CVT (P682,888), and the 1.4L LTZ CVT (P763,888). For more information about the new Spark and the rest of TCCCI’s models, visit http://www.chevrolet.com.ph.
