After winning the coveted 2016 Car of the Year-Philippines (COTY-PH), it looks like the all-new, 10th generation Honda Civic is on a roll, taking home a few more honors at the 2016 ASEAN NCAP Grand Prix held recently in Malaysia.

The new Honda Civic garnered a five-star rating in both frontal offset and side impact testing, getting 14.74 out of 16 points in Adult Occupant Protection (AOP) and 86% for Child Ocupant Protection (COP). These scores were enough to bestow on it the Best Medium Family Car in Adult and Child Occupant Protection, given under the Crash Worthiness category.

Thanks to its slew of safety features, the all-new Civic is considered as one of the safest cars on the road. Safety gear like driver and passenger airbags, side impact and side curtain airbags, Vehicle Stability Assist, Hill Start Assist, Emergency Stop Signal, Multiview Camera, and Immobilizer are just some of the things that help give it optimum passenger protection.

Apart from the Civic, other Honda vehicles likewise took home a few prizes in various categories. The Honda Jazz, for example, got the Most Affordable 5-star Car in the Philippines, while the City, BR-V, and HR-V received the same award in other ASEAN markets. The Brio and Brio Amaze, meanwhile, bagged a four-star rating for crash safety.

Finally, Honda walked away with the Best Safety Technology from a Car Maker prize for its Honda Sensing suite of safety kit. The Honda Sensing includes features like Lane Keep Assist, Collision Mitigation System, Road Departure warning, and Adaptive Cruise Control, just to name a few. It is meant to keep drivers and other road users safe and secure under all driving conditions.

The ASEAN New Car Assessment Program (NCAP, aims to evaluate safety standards, encourage a market with safer cars, and raise consumer awareness on road safety. The ASEAN NCAP tests are conducted together with the Japan Automobile Research Institute.
