The year 2016 gave Suzuki Philippines a lot of reasons to celebrate. Chief among these is the Japanese compact vehicle maker’s stunning 37% year-on-year sales growth. This marked a banner year for Suzuki, which has slowly been upping its game in sales and marketing.

With more urban centers sprouting across the country, Suzuki Philippines took the opportunity to bring its products closer to the market via the opening of several dealerships located in strategic areas. These include Suzuki Auto Pulilan, Suzuki Auto South Cebu, Suzuki Malolos Satellite, Suzuki Auto Gen San, Suzuki Auto Quezon Avenue Satellite, Suzuki Auto Sta.Rosa, Suzuki Auto Biñan, Suzuki Auto Baguio, Suzuki Auto Davao, Suzuki Auto SM Gen San Satellite, and Suzuki Auto Batangas.

As for those products, Suzuki brought out two new offerings that it thinks would appeal to the discriminating Filipino motorist. The Suzuki Ciaz is a subcompact sedan that offers style, comfort, and performance at a friendly price. It seems to have paid off as the car garnered the Best Value for Money in the Compact Sedan award at the 2016 Auto Focus Media’s Choice Awards, as well as the Best Subcompact Sedan in the 2016 Car of the Year Awards given by the Car Awards Group Inc (CAGI).

The Suzuki Ciaz was joined by the Super Carry, the brand’s vaunted Utility Commercial Vehicle, ideal for growing businesses. It likewise gained recognition as the Best Utility Commercial Vehicle in the 2016 COTY tilt.

Besides these accolades, Suzuki vehicles, particularly the Suzuki Celerio CVT and Ciaz M/T, were recognized as the Best Gasoline Engine and Most Efficient Gasoline Engine, respectively, in the Department of Energy’s first-ever Euro-4 Fuel Economy Run, organized together with Petron Corporation.

As for the hottest-selling Suzuki, the honor goes to the Suzuki Celerio, with a 149% year-on-year sales growth. It was followed by favorites like the Jimny, Swift, Ertiga, and the Alto 800.

And of course, its continuing partnership with the Asian Football Federation in the Suzuki AFF Cup is proof that Suzuki is not about to rest on laurels, whether it be in sports, dealership launches, and the unveiling of new and exciting products.
