The end of March usually signals the start of summer. It’s the end of another schoolyear, the time for roadtrips, and outings to the beach. For car enthusiasts, however, this time of the year means only one thing: the Manila International Auto Show (MIAS).
With more than 110,000 visitors patronizing the previous year’s staging, MIAS 2017 promises to be even bigger and more exciting. Set to take place from March 30 to April 2, 2017, the four-day event will occupy over 34,000sq.m. of the World Trade Center in Pasay City. Apart from the Main Hall where the major manufacturers will showcase their newest offerings, the show will extend to five (5) indoor structures, including two customized tents and the Philippine Trade Training Center.
For 2017, MIAS visitors will be treated to a slew of product launches, activities, and other goodies that all revolve around the theme “Beyond Performance”. Nowhere is this more evident that with the diverse array of activities one can see and experience at the show. From the commercial vehicle and truck exhibit (a first for MIAS), the simulated off-road 4x4 course, OEM parts suppliers selling their wares, the exhibit by the Diecast Collectors Philippines, the classic and vintage cars on display, all the way to precision driver Russ Swift showing off his stuff, there’s something for both the young and young-at-heart.
Besides these exciting show stoppers, MIAS 2017 will likewise honor the best of the best via the Car of the Year (COTY) and Truck of the Year (TOTY), namely, the Honda Civic RS Turbo and the Isuzu D-Max 3.0L 4x2 LS AT, respectively. And with motorcycles being a common sight on our roads these days, MIAS will be the launchpad for the first Motorcycle of the Year Awards.
And of course, a host of car launches will be on hand to entice car nuts to come and check out what’s new in the market. This year’s roster includes:
