The Nissan Rogue Sport is a CUV Done Just Right

It looks like Goldilocks and the Three Bears has gotten to the folks at Nissan North America, what with the new addition to its SUV lineup. With the Juke taking up the smaller end of the segment, and the Rogue (X-Trail in markets like ours) bringing up the not-so-compact SUV part, the new Rogue Sport slots in between for that “just right” fit.

With a slightly shorter length and wheelbase, the new Nissan Rogue Sprot is targeted at single folks, newlywed couples, or empty nesters looking for a fun, sporty, yet still versatile vehicle. While it may be smaller than the Rogue, it offers goodies like Divide N’ Hide storage configuration, Around, View Camera, and Nissan’s Intelligent Safety Shield. The last bit utilizes technologies like Forward Collision avoidance, Forward Emergency Braking with Pedestrian Detection, Intelligent Cruise Control. Rear Cross Traffic Alert, and the like. All these make for a truly versatile and safe CUV.

The new Nissan Rogue Sport will be powered by Nissan’s 2.0-liter four cylinder motor with 141hp, mated to the brand’s Xtronic CVT. It’s more for efficient motoring with a hint of sportiness thrown in.

The Nissan Rogue Sport debuts at the North American International Auto Show in Detroit. It will go on sale in the U.S. in the second quarter of 2017.
