Car and toy aficionados will know that Lego has come up with miniature models of various cars over the past few years. These include nameplates like the Porsche 911 GT3 RS, Volkswagen Beetle and Kombi, and a slew of Fords, just to name a distinguished few. Now, McLaren can be added to this list, in the guise of the recently unveiled McLaren 720S supercar.
With a svelte and shapely body, it was no easy task coming up with Lego bricks that can build a scale model of the 720S. This is why it actually took Lego and McLaren designers a little over a year before they could reveal the finished product. The result is a replica that can very well be a shrunken version of the British supercar. In fact, the Azones Orange Lego toy is joined by a minifigure car designer, design studio desk, design sketch, coffee cup, and 3D printed scale model.
Launched just last March 7 at the Geneva Motor Show, the McLaren 720S is the second model under the Super Series range. It is powered by a 4.0-liter twin-turbocharged V8 motor that develops 720hp, allowing it to blast from rest to 200kph in just 7.8 seconds and hit a 341kph top speed.
The Lego McLaren 720S will be available beginning 1 June 2017.
