To those following the local motorsports scene over the past two years, you will have familiarized yourselves with the Giti Formula V1 Challenge. Sure, you know that it’s organized by Tuason Racing, and that it’s the historic return of single seat racing in the Philippines, and that it’s now considered as the highest form of motorsport available in the country today.
But did you know that the Formula V1 racecar itself can go toe-to-toe with some of the fastest supercars around the 4.2 km long Clark International Speedway (CIS) in Pampanga? And did you know that in the hands of a skilled driver, the machine can tackle CIS with an average speed in excess of 200 km/h and an average lap time of 2 minutes and eleven seconds
These are just a couple of tech facts not many know about the V1 racing machine, and these are some of the things experienced first-hand by a grid full of brave racers who took part in the recently concluded Giti Formula V1Level Up Challenge, a weekend of fun, excitement, and testing of how fast can the V1 machine really go and how committed the participants are to push the machine to its limits.
