The LDS Church has a standard $400 monthly “average” and equalized cost levied for all single young men and young women who serve full-time missions. When the new price kicks in, the overall cost for a man to serve a two-year mission will be $12,000, while women, who serve 18 months, will pay $9,000. Missions sometimes cost a missionary their naiveté, they go out with a certain view on the world and have their eyes opened to new and astounding points of view.
So, even allowing for a lower single missionary cost likely means the $400 a month families pay doesn’t actually cover the real cost of a mission. The last time the cost for a church mission was adjusted was in 2003. But under LDS President David O. McKay in the 1950s and 1960s, the mission grew to 13,000. The cost of a standard full-time mission in the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints (commonly called the "Mormon" church) is $400 per month. President Nelson asks all, including Latter-day Saints and "those not of our faith" to "unite our faith once again" and participate in a second worldwide fast. The Internal Revenue Service allows you to deduct charitable contributions. When you give your time, you're also allowed to deduct any expenses that you incur in donating time.
