Certain things bring people together. Different strokes for different folks, they say. Yet somehow, things like cars, food, hobbies, or business allow people from various walks of life to come together and share a common bond.

In the case of the guys and gals of XTRM 1-11, their business acumen, coaching people how to invest wisely, and love for a particular car brand were the binding force that brought them together. Hanna Simeon, Shannen Dela Cruz, TJ Amorado, and Kenneth De Guzman are all entrepreneurs who likewise drive the same nameplate—Mazda. Hanna, for instance, drives a Mazda2 Midnight Edition and says that the car’s black with red accent styling matches her own chic personality. TJ, on the other hand, thinks that driving an MX-5 gives off that “wow” factor since the car is a sporty open-top convertible.

And that’s pretty much what drew these young folks to Mazda. The KODO—Soul of Motion design language caught their eyes in an instant. They may not exactly be car enthusiasts, yet Kenneth and Shannen, who both drive Mazda 3s, admit that they immediately fell in love with the car’s striking stance—especially in the luscious signature Soul Red paint scheme.

Apart from loving the design, the lightness of the controls, the peppy engine, and the nimble chassis—which all make up the SkyActiv suite of technologies were a plus in sealing the deal. It’s the perfect mix of driving fun and responsible mobility. And who can forget the brand’s rich heritage, with cult classics like the legendary RX-7?

Yes, Mazda may have gone mainstream lately, with offerings like the Mazda2, Mazda CX-5, and the new CX-3. Yet one thing is clear to the XTRM 1-11 team, as well as everyone who chooses a Mazda: the spirit of Zoom-zoom is alive and well, no matter what car they drive.
