We’ve all heard of cross-country rallies. The Mille Miglia and our very own Tour de Cebu are just some of the races that come to mind. Yet only a few souls are brave enough to try a cross-continent rally. Porsche will be one them as it gears up for the Porsche World Expedition 2018.

Slated to begin on 11 May 2018 in Brisbane, Australia, the trek will take participants through roughly 30,000kms in 80 days. The vehicle of choice will be the Porsche Cayenne.

The journey, which will head from Brisbane to Perth in May, and to various countries and continents in the succeeding months aims to take enthusiasts on a trip that will allow them to discover the various facets of their vehicle and to have an adventure like no other.

To do this, Porsche will be designing six routes that will put the Cayenne through its paces. These routes include Australia, Africa, Central and South America, and Southeast Asia. From Brisbane, Australia, to Johannesburg, Africa, all the way to Shangri-La in Asia, the expedition will cover 28 places per tour.

Each tour, as it is called, is designed to tackle some of the most challenging terrain that will demand the most from both man and machine.
