There once was a time when supercars were fast and furious yet offered the cabin comfort of a sardine can. Grand Tourers, on the other hand, allowed you to lounge around in total comfort while on the move. Unfortunately, this somehow translated to their driving dynamics as well.
Aston Martin puts forth its latest offering, promising to marry the explosive response of a supercar with the refinement of a Super GT. Enter the Aston Martin DBS Superleggera. This new model, which is set to replace the vaunted Vanquish S, marks the return of both the DBS nameplate and the Super GT marque.
First seen in 1967, the DBS has been at the pinnacle of performance luxury motoring for more than a few decades now. The Supperleggera, meanwhile, is the epitome of refinement on the road. With this number, Aston Martin offers a truly potent 5.2-liter bi-turbo V12 that puts out a rousing 715hp and 900Nm of torque. Mated to a new 8-speed ZF transmission, the DBS Superleggera can sprint from 0-100kph in a blistering 3.4 seconds, hit the 160kph mark in 6.4 ticks, and go on to a terminal velocity of 340kph.
