Most car enthusiasts know that when the names Aston Martin and Zagato come together, beautiful creations come about. We refer, of course, to the line of Aston Martin Vanquish Zagato models that aren’t only filled with breathtaking details, but are likewise some of the rarest cars in the business.

It all started with the Vanquish Zagato Coupe, which began its production run in late 2016. This was followed by the equally rare Vanquish Zagato Volante. Both nameplates have a limited run of just 99 units each, with the latter completing deliveries by 2018.

But folks who think that this is the end of an era will be pleased to know that Aston Martin is continuing the Zagato tradition. In fact, the pair of models that will be revealed will put an interesting twist to the unfolding story.  These are the Vanquish Zagato Speedster and the Vanquish Zagato Shooting Brake.

The Vanquish Zagato Speedster is the rarest member of the family, with just 28 units for delivery by 2018. The open-top roadster is an uncompromising design, expressing the joys of roofless motoring with eye-catching details. Being a Zagato creation, the double bubble styling cues come in the form of the Speed Humps that are streamlined cowls located behind the seats. Other cool design aspects are the Aston Martin Vulcan-inspired Blade tail lights, and 3D Zagato Z motifs on the front grille and rear air vents.

While the name may suggest it being a family wagon, the Aston Martin Vanquish Zagato Shooting Brake is, on the contrary, a two-seat GT. The extended rear roof features the trademark Zagato double bubble styling, complete with glass inlays. This culminates with a power tailgate that hides a luxuriously trimmed cargo area with its own tailored luggage set. More luxuries can be found in the form of fully anodized bronze controls, Z motif quilting, and optional aniline leather upholstery.

Based on the Vanquish S. each car in the range is powered by a 600hp naturally-aspirated V12 motor. This is paired with the smooth-shifting Touchtronic automatic gearbox. With the Vanquish Zagato Spedster designed more for the adventurous type who wants to feel the wind in their hair, the Shooting Brake is for those that want a true GT car, this time rendered in a unique fashion.

And unique these cars are, Aston Martin Zagato says that only 325 units of all four members of the family will be produced. That’s 99 for each model, except the Speedster, which as mentioned, will only have 28 copies.
