The internet and the automotive landscape have been filled with rumors about the upcoming Bugatti Divo hpercar. After all the spy shots and what-not, Bugatti has finally revealed its latest offering at no less the the glitzy Pebble Beach Concours d’Elegance.
While it may be a reworked Chiron, Bugatti has taken pains to extensively tweak the Divo inside and out. The cosmetic changes can be seen in the various spoilers front and rear, air intakes, and ducts that all conspire to give the car tremendous downforce. Think 1.6 lateral g and you’ll get a faint idea of just how sticky this car is on the pavement.
This downroce pays off handsomely when taking corners. Moreover, the lighter weight, thanks to removal of various luxuries like storage spaces within the cabin and a less fancy stereo (frankly, who needs one in this car?) allows the Divo to strut its stuff around the Nardo Circuit a good 8 seconds quicker than the Chiron.
But alas, not all is perfect for the Divo. Top speed hs been limited to a “mere” 380kph—a tad slower than the Chiron’s 420kph terminal velocity. Both cars share the same W16 mill that puts out a whopping 1,500hp.
Stil, the Bugatti Divo looks to be one ultra-fast number. Oh, and it likewise tops the price wars at roughly $5 million (P300 million, inclusive of taxes). Yes, once again Bugatti seems bent on breaking a few records.
