Ferrari has been a staunch motorsport participant since day one. Apart from Formula 1, GT3, GTE, and its own one-make Challenge race series, the Prancing Horse also has a special XX program to cater to clients who wish to take their ultra-special track toys to the limit.
In the tradition of cars like the FXX Evo and 599 XX Evo, the Italian luxury sports car maker has just unveiled the Ferrari FXX K Evo at the Finali Mondiali in Mugello over the weekend. Based on the FXX K, this one adds a host of improvements to not only give the car more performance but even save a bit of weight in the process.
One of the most obvious changes is the fixed twin-profile rear wing. It is complemented by two side fins, as well as a central fin. These bits, together with re-sculpted bumpers, a totally flat underside, and tweaked suspension all aid in giving the car downforce levels that can rival the best from GTE and GT3.
If we go by the numbers, Ferrari claims that this would be equivalent to 23% more than a standard FXX and as much as 75% greater downforce than a LaFerrari. Taken in the proper context, that’s around 640kg at 200kph and up to 830kg at full tilt.
