At the halfway point of the year 2018, Ford Asia Pacific tells us that the erstwhile Ranger pickup has been leading the way in terms of sales. As we reported recently, the Built Ford Tough pickup led the charge for the Blue Ovals Philippine sales offensive for the month of June 2018. Apparently, the pickup is likewise a favorite in various parts of the region.

A total of 69,103 Rangers were sold in the Asia Pacific region during the first six months of this year. This was due to brisk sales in countries like New Zealand, Australia, Thailand, Taiwan, and the Philippines. Thailand, for instance, remains as the brand’s best-selling market with sales rising 35 percent. Australia was another hot market with sales up 2.2 percent. The truck was likewise the best-selling 4x4 in the country.

Despite strong sales, Ford is not about to rest on its laurels just yet. A new Ranger will be unveiled in the region during the second half of the year. As if this isn’t enough, the highly anticipated Ranger Raptor that was rolled out last June in Thailand will make its way to other markets after its sales debut in August.

By the looks of things, the Ford Ranger looks to continue its dominance in the region for the remainder of 20118.
