Jeep aficionados will note that the American off-road vehicle maker tends to update its erstwhile Wrangler not very often. In fact, the last generation JK was first revealed in 2007. After a good ten-year run, Jeep finally redesigns the off-roader with some cool modern touches to boot.
A quick glance at the all-new JL Jeep Wrangler reveals a sleeker shape. Sure, the distinctive Jeep profile remains. Yet the headlights are now more modern, as is the keystone grille and front bumper. And the daytime running lights are now fender mounted. The windshield also seems to be a bit more rakish, with an easier bolt-off mechanism, Jeep says. Unlike the previous model’s 28-bolt configuration, this one can easily be removed by unscrewing just four bolts. And there are special tools included to help you out.
At the rear, a larger window improves visibility, while a new lip spoiler is available for the first time. This aids in aerodynamic efficiency. And a reverse camera finds its way here, helping drivers get into those tight spaces.
Just like the outside, the cabin also gets a bit more modern. There’s a new center console that can store smartphones and other knick-knacks, a host of USB and aux ports, and other mod cons. It’s designed to make life easier even as you rough it in the great outdoors.
