The Metropolitan Manila Development Authority says that there were 101,428 vehicular accidents in the National Capital Region last year.
Of this number, 336 were fatal.
This is why various motoring organizations and groups have begun stepping up their game to promote road safety.
One such group is Lalamove, the leading on-demand app.
Together with the Honda Safety Driving Center and road safety advocate James Dakin, it launches Angat ang Maingat, catering to its over 30,000 partner drivers.
The campaign is designed to remind partner drivers that despite their being in a rush to deliver a package, safety must always come first.
It doesn’t matter whether it’s in the middle of summer or a torrential downpour.
Their safety must always be of the utmost importance.
Sure, they may have personal accident insurance.
Yet this is only a shield.
The best defense is still the use of one’s senses to stay alert while on the move.
