If you’re the type that likes to check out what cars are popular out on the street, then you may have noticed that the Toyota Alphard seems to be all over the place. This is especially true in high-end locations like Bonifacio Global City or exclusive villages like Forbes Park in Makati.
It’s really no surprise as Toyota has put in first-class amenities into what is essentially a large family van. Now, Toyota Motor Philippines wants to reinforce its hold on the luxury van segment as it unveils the 2018 Alphard.
Presented to the motoring media recently, the new model sports a striking new fascia. This comes courtesy of a redesigned front grille that is even more imposing than the already dominant pre-facelifted version. It even boasts of a new logo that gives it an identity all its own.
Aside from some updated exterior details, the biggest changes can be seen inside the luxurious cabin. It now receives an updated infotainment system with navigation capability. This is complemented by revised aircon vents for better cooling, seat heaters on the second-row seats, and a digital rearview mirror to aid the driver.
Toyota has likewise thrown in a start/stop function for the 3.5-liter V6 motor. This is meant to help save fuel, especially on our gridlocked roads.
As for the price, it goes for P3,580,000. While all these may be minor revision, they all combine to help Toyota stay ahead in the segment.
