The One-Off Ferrari SP38 was built for one truly “dedicated client”

We all know Ferrari to be a car company that tries to make its offerings as exclusive as possible. Apart from limiting the number of units built at its home in Maranello, only a chosen few are really lucky enough to own these fine machines.

As if this wasn’t exclusive enough, there are times when the One-Off Customer program creates models that are just that—a single car for truly special clients. One example is the SP38 that was delivered to one “very dedicated customer” at no less than the Fiorano track.

Taking its cue from the 488 GTB, the SP38 uses the supercar’s running gear and chassis. What make it truly special are the visual cues that draw inspiration from the iconic F40. These can be seen in the rear spoiler, the side profile, and the engine cover which replaces the glass area for three large slats. The headlights, meanwhile, are thinner and allow the car to have a less massive front end.  Finally, the triple-layer red paint is likewise reminiscent of the late 80s supercar.

While the Ferrari SP38 is already spoken for, the gracious owner has allowed the public to view his pride and joy. The car will be displayed at the upcoming Concorso d’Eleganza Villa d;Este this coming May 26.
