The sales figures are in for the first quarter of 2019. Ford Philippines, for its part, reports that it sold some 5,560 vehicles during the said period. This performance was led by the hot-selling Ranger pickup.

The Ford Ranger, which got a refresh last year, along with a performance-oriented Raptor version, saw a 25 percent increase in sales over the same period last year. This brings Ranger sales to 3,142 units, with March sales rising significantly as well to 1,137 Rangers—up by 21 percent.

Apart from the Ranger, other top-selling Fords were the Everest and the EcoSport. The midsize SUV saw 1,645 units leave showroom floors while its subcompact sibling had 533 customers drive home a new EcoSport.

With strong sales and expected updates to these and other Ford products, 2019 should be yet another good year for the Blue Oval brand
