Renowned precision driver Russ Swift highlights this year’s much-awaited MIAS

After two years of absence, the Manila International Auto Show (MIAS) will make its much-awaited return to physical form this April. But for this author, there’s nothing more exciting than the valiant comeback of the world’s renowned precision driver Russ Swift, whose stunt driving performance has become one of, if not, the most sought-after part of every MIAS since his first appearance in 2008.

In charge of Swift’s return to MIAS is Motor Image Pilipinas, the official distributor of Subaru vehicles in the Philippines. That in mind, he’ll be putting to the test some of the Japanese carmaker’s latest models such as the Forester, the WRX Sedan, and the all-new BRZ sports car, all fitted with Subaru’s famed boxer engine.

And as with ever Russ Swift stunt show, a number of his awesome car control skills will also be put to the test. Ever seen a car run on two of its side wheels? If you haven’t, you gotta check this out as it’s not every day that you get to see a huge hunk of metal being gracefully driven on its side. Furthermore, Swift will also be demoing his other crowd-stopping moves such as his signature Swift Parallel Parking which earned him a Guinness recod a few years back, the J-Turn, donut spins, and a dance routine to cap it all off.

“Motor Image Subaru is happy to have the return of Guinness World Record driver Russ Swift at MIAS to bring thrills, excitement and smiles to Subaru’s Filipino fans once again,” said Mr Glenn Tan, Deputy Chairman and Managing Director, Tan Chong International Limited.

Of course, all this would not be possible without some key sponsors that help the awesome event push through. These include Shell, Motul, CTEK, SONAX, PIAA, Little Trees, ConceptOne, and Nitto tires.

On April 7 to 10 at this year’s Manila International Auto Show at the World Trade Center in Pasay City, come and see the action. Here’s a spread of Russ Swift’s Stunt Show.
