Omtanke is a Swedish word that means caring, consideration, and to think again.
This is the philosophy that made Volvo one of, if not the safest cars on the road.
It is the same driving force behind campaigns such as the Safe Roads project.
With road safety becoming a major concern both here and abroad, the Swedish car company once again reiterates its call for being safe while out there.
It does so by starting them young—advocating safety in schools.
By partnering with schools and academic institutions, it aims to teach children, their parents and guardians, and everyone what being safe on the road is all about.
It will use clearly marked signages, as well as other materials to remind everyone to stay safe.
Starting with the kids from MGC New Life Christian Academy.
And other schools in Metro Manila.
With this, Volvo hopes that Filipinos value the importance of road safety for all.
From the three-point seatbelt, Volvo aims towards Vision 2020.
Where no one should be killed or seriously injured while in a Volvo.
By coming up with advocacies such as the Safe Roads project, it looks like it is well on its way to making this a reality.
So look out for those signs at your child’s school.
And practice road safety together.
It could just save a life—including yours.
