In case you’ve been counting, Kia’s little Picanto has actually reached the end of its life cycle. Yes, the second-gen model is now about to give way to the all-new iteration, which Kia revealed today.
The new Kia Picanto sports a bolder stance, thanks to a more youthful vibe and sporty character. Designed at Kia’s Namyang, Korea and Frankfurt, Germany studios, the Picanto boasts a longer wheelbase (by 15mm), which translates to increased passenger room inside. There is even a GT-Line that adds a hint of chic to an otherwise humble hatchback. And Kia has noted the the colors available are now more vibrant—truly enticing the younger set.
The cabin is likewise more upscale, with the centerpiece being the floating display. This brings connected mobility and personalization to the A-segment, along with creature comforts that make life easier and less stressful on the road. Just like the exterior, the interior can be tailor-fit to suit one’s personality and style, with colors and trims that are now more premium.
While no engine and mechanical details were revealed just yet, buyers can expect the same efficient yet peppy performance that the previous models have been known for. The new Kia Picanto will be fully unveiled at the Geneva International Motor Show in March and will go on sale by the 3rd quarter of 2017.
