In case you didn’t know it, Mercedes-Benz isn’t just known for producing some of the most upmarket sedans and SUVs around. The German carmaker also has a recreational van in its lineup, the V-Class. Sold under the Marco Polo moniker, the van is for folks who lead an active lifestyle yet aren’t willing to sacrifice style.
Now, Mercedes-Benz adds another variant that will join the Marco Polo and Marco Polo ACTIVITY, the Marco Polo HORIZON. This one is touted to be the most versatile member of the range. It can, for instance, be used as either a five- or seven-seat van. This makes it the ideal vehicle for ferrying the kids to and from school and taking them to their various activities.
Once the weekend rolls in, however, the optional camper with roof beds, flexible seating configurations, and various amenities allow it to be used as a stylish recreational vehicle for the great outdoors. Owners can even spec their HORIZON with goodies like a kitchenette, wardrobe closet, and other modern conveniences.
Speaking of modern amenities, Mercedes Me Connect allows one to “talk” to their Marco Polo using their various devices. This will let them perform various vehicle functions remotely, as well as enjoy services like real-time live traffic updates, among others.
Just as with other members in the V-Class Marco Polo family, the Marco Polo HORIZON can be had with a slew of diesel motors with different horsepower ratings. It can even be ordered with 4Matic all-wheel drive and 7G-Tronic Plus seven-speed transmission.
The Mercedes-Benz Marco Polo HORIZON will be presented at the upcoming Geneva Motor Show, taking place from March 7-19, 2017.
