The numerous typhoons experienced by our country have brought about an equally large number of damaged property or worse, loss of human life. Amidst these tragedies, there are certain groups that do their part to try to rebuild the devastation and help those left behind start anew. One such effort is the recent partnership between Mitsubishi Motors Philippines Corporation (MMPC) and GMA Kapuso Foundation.
Dubbed Kapuso Tulay Para sa Kaunlaran, the project involves reconstruction of a steel bridge that was damaged by typhoon Nina last year in Barangay Iraya, Buhi, Camarines Sur. The bridge, unfortunately, was the only access residents had to get to the nearby town. It was likewise the route school children took to get to and from school.
MMPC, for its part, donated P1 million to help with the rehabilitation and construction of the said bridge. Through this efforts, MMPC and GMA Kapuso Foundation hope that residents, especially the children, will be able to go about their daily activities without fear that anything untoward would happen to them due to the broken bridge.
