As if the Volvo S90 isn’t premium enough, the Swedish carmaker will begin offering a pair of variants that aim to take the car (and the brand) to new heights. Unveiled primarily for the Chinese market, the new Volvo S90 and S90 Excellence offer a host of features that promise to elevate the overall riding experience of the lucky passengers.
The S90 and S90 Excellence boast of goodies like the omission of the front passenger’s seat. This is replaced by the Lounge Console that allows the busy executive to relax or get some much-needed work done while on the move. The spacious cabin is enhanced by a full panoramic roof, heated and cooled cupholders, innovative storage solutions, folding worktables, adjustable footrests, and a large interface controlling the entertainment and connectivity infotainment system. To complete the experience, the rear seat gets its own refrigerator, touchscreen controller, and crystal glasses made by Swedish glassmaker Orrefors.
Buyers can choose from either the T4, T5, or T8 Twin Engine—which is what one will get when choosing the Excellence model. This particular variant combines the best of both gasoline and electric motors with power and efficiency on tap. Moreover, the legendary Volvo safety suite comes standard, with such safeguards as Large Animal Detection and Pilot Assist. Oh, and did we mention that both cars wil protect their occupants well-being with a new CleanZone air quality system that ensures only the cleanest air comes into the luxurious interior.
The Volvo S90 will be available in China beginning this November. The S90 Excellence will follow sometime next year.
