Mercedes-Benz has always been known for its large, stately sedans. Back in the day, the Mercedes-Benz S-Class and E-Class were the models to have if you wanted a car with the three-pointed star. But with 635,000 customers choosing either an A- B- or GLA-Class in 2016, it seems that Merc sales have shrunk—figuratively, that is.
According to Mercedes-Benz, more people have chosen its subcompact offerings due to the relatively affordability that still gives them the same luxury that has been a hallmark of the brand all these years. And now, Mercedes-Benz shows off the future of the subcompact in the form of the Concept A Sedan at the ongoing Auto Shanghai 2017.
As the name suggests, the Concept A Sedan is a crystal ball’s eye view into what the future holds for Mercedes-Benz in the compact sedan segment. The low roof line and minimalist lines hint at a stylish and luxurious Merc with a small yet still spacious footprint.
Apart from showing off what the next-generation Mercedes-Benz A-Class could look like, the A-Concept A Sedan likewise shows the world the face of Mercedes-Benz in the years to come.
