Participants of the DSFL program in Davao gather after the training sessions. Davao is one of the first cities outside Manila where Ford’s pioneering driver training program was held.
For almost ten years now, Ford Philippines has been educating numerous Filipino drivers about proper behavior behind the wheel. Together with long-time partner Tuason Racing School, the Ford Driving Skills for Life (DFSL) initiative continues its thrust towards a safe and disciplined society on the road. For its latest stop, it headed to Davao City.
Held at the SMX Convention Center in Davao, the event was attended by around 200 participants made up of a diverse mix of drivers. Everyone from Ford customers, Public Utility Vehicle drivers, and even traffic enforcers were given tips and useful pointers on vehicle maintenance, fuel efficiency, and of course, road safety.
Each participant was given both classroom training and actual driving simulations. Either way, everyone got to learn how to behave properly behind the tiller while still being able to cope with the often stressful local road conditions.
Since it entered the local scene in 2008, the United Nations-recognized Ford Driving Skills for Life program has been educating drivers about smart and safe driving. And it hopes to continue this if only to eventually see a road network with very minimal or even zero accidents.
