A few years ago, the global automotive industry was rocked by news of potential defective airbags coming from parts supplier Takata. Since then, efforts have been made to address this issue, all in the name of consumer safety. One of the affected carmakers that is striving to correct the fault is Nissan.
Nissan Philippines Inc, local distributor of Nissan vehicles, recently announced a service campaign that calls on owners of specific Nissan vehicles to visit their nearest authorized Nissan dealer to have the potentially defective airbags replaced as soon as possible.
The airbag replacement is free of charge and is advised for 2008-2014 Nissan Grand Livina, 2007-2014 Nissan Navara, 2003-2008 Nissan Frontier, the 2006-2007 Nissan Teana, and 2003-2012 Nissan X-Trail and Patrol Super Safari.
Customers wondering if their vehicles are affected by te service campaign can log on to the Nissan website at www.nissan.ph, clock on the Owners tab, select Service Campaign, and enter their Vehicle identification Number. They may likewise call (02) 403-6593 or 0927-6009557 or visit their authorized Nissan dealer.
