Around a year ago, Rolls-Royce delivered what it says was its most unique vehicle to date. The Rolls-Royce SRH, as many may recall, was the smallest Rolls that was meant specifically for the St. Richard’s Hospital Pediatric Day Surgery Unit.
After twelve fruitful months of service, the little RR returns to the Home of Rolls-Royce for its first full year of periodic maintenance service. With an average of one child per day taking the wheel of the SRH to go to the hospital’s operating room (or operating theater, as they call it), the car is holding up quite well.
The technicians at Rolls-Royce have, in fact, given the car a “clean bill of health”. Simply put, it is as good as it was when it first rolled out of the Home of Rolls-Royce. The hand-built creation was made especially for the children of the hospital. It has been shown that kids who drive themselves through the hospital’s corridors en route to the operating room are less stressed and are well-prepared for surgery. There are even traffic signs lining the halls, just like a real street.
At the rate things are going, the Rolls-Royce SRH will be in service for many years to come. And it will put a smile on numerous childrens’ faces as well.
